View Larger Any thoughts about this new Guild Leader for the Simic Combine?
When I was a kid I had the “Simic Mutology” deck, which used a really cool mechanic called Grafting. It basically allowed your creatures to share abilities with one another, so that they worked like one living organism. Momir Vig, the original Guild Leader, was a card that I never had, but I do still own his Experiment Kraj and most of the Mutology deck.
Now that there’s a new set coming out, Return to Ravnica, I see that a new character has taken over the Combine, and its a Merfolk. There’s some speculation as to how Merfolk were introduced to this plane, and I don’t really know how to hypothesize how that happened. All I know is that collecting Merfolk may be a good idea, because playing G/U is a really good idea.
Thoughts? Personally I’m sort of “eh” about it, but maybe when I learn about how merfolk found themselves in Ravnica I may get more excited about her taking over one of my favorite guilds.
